Prayer flags, khata and snow peaks with a Losar greeting, for a family gathering, a community programme or wishes to relatives abroad.
A Losar card opens with a new year greeting such as Tashi Delek or ल्होसारको हार्दिक शुभकामना, over prayer flags, a khata or the year’s animal. An invitation adds the host family or community organisation, the programme, the date and the venue.
Nepal marks three Losars. Tamu Losar is the Gurung new year in Poush, Sonam Losar is the Tamang and Hyolmo new year in Magh, and Gyalpo Losar is celebrated by Sherpa and Tibetan communities in Falgun. Name the one you are celebrating so guests know which gathering it is.

Losar programmes in Tundikhel, Boudha and community halls often have cultural performances, speeches and a feast. A programme card can list the chief guest, the schedule and the venue, and go out as one link to every member.
Write the greeting in Tibetan script with the details in Nepali or English beneath it, or keep the whole card in one language. The Nepali date sits beside the English one.
