What goes on a Dashain card?

A Dashain card carries a Vijaya Dashami greeting, usually विजया दशमीको हार्दिक शुभकामना, over tika, jamara or a Durga motif. When it is an invitation rather than a greeting, it also names the host family, the day of tika in the Bikram Sambat calendar, the saait for receiving tika and the address of the house.

Families spread across Nepal and abroad now send the card as one link. Relatives open it on their phone, see which day to come, tap the map and reply, so the host knows how many plates to plan for each day of tika.
