Janma Din wording for an elder

For a parent’s or grandparent’s birthday, a more formal Nepali line fits the occasion. Some families mark a puja before the meal.

For very old family elders, some communities celebrate a special birthday such as Janku. The same card works; just name the ceremony clearly at the top.

WhatsApp messages to send with the card

The message you send with the link matters as much as the card. Keep it short and personal.

• To friends: “Hi! Aarav is turning 5 on Saturday. Here’s the invite, hope you and the kids can come 🎈 Tap to reply: [link]”
• To relatives (Nepali): “नमस्ते! आर्याको पहिलो जन्मदिनमा हजुरलाई निम्तो छ। कार्ड यहाँ छ: [link] कृपया आउने/नआउने जानकारी दिनुहोला।”
• To colleagues: “Celebrating my 30th on Friday evening. Details and RSVP here: [link]. Would be great to see you.”

Reminder message, the day before

“Just a reminder: the party is tomorrow at 3 PM at FunZone. See you there! [link]”

Tips for birthday invitations

• Give an end time for kids’ parties, so parents can plan pick-up.
• Mention a theme or dress code only if you really want one.
• If gifts are not expected, say so politely: “Your presence is the only gift.”
• For a surprise party, write “Shh, it’s a surprise!” clearly near the top.

Birthday invitation letter format

Students are often asked to write a birthday invitation in letter or card format. Here is a simple structure:

1. Heading: Birthday Invitation
2. Greeting: Dear ...
3. One line saying whose birthday it is and inviting the reader
4. Date, day and time
5. Venue
6. A closing line and your name

I am turning 16 on Friday and I would love you to join me for a small party at my home from 4 PM. There will be cake, music and games. Please let me know by Wednesday.
